Programs and Services

Four areas of work, each drawn directly from the organization's mission. Every program is delivered by members with professional experience in the discipline involved.

PROGRAM 01

Maritime Emergency Support

When a local, regional, state, or federal agency needs help on the water, AMG members can be requested to assist. The organization brings together the disciplines a maritime incident may call for so that the responsible agency has trained, experienced people alongside its own crews.

  • Search and rescue support on Delta waterways
  • Diving support
  • Salvage support
  • Marine firefighting support
  • Vessel support and licensed captains

  • Rescue operations
  • Marine engineering
  • Environmental conservation
Who it serves
Agency personnel, emergency responders, AMG members, and the boating public

PROGRAM 04

Expert Advice and Vessel Support

Not every need is an emergency. Agencies and communities sometimes need an experienced marine professional to answer a question, look at a problem, or provide a vessel and crew for a planned operation. AMG supports its communities through expert advice and vessel support.

  • Practical advice from experienced marine professionals
  • Vessel support for planned agency and community operations
  • Marine engineering expertise
Who it serves
Public agencies and Delta communities
How to request
Contact the organization with a description of the need and the timeframe.

PROGRAM 05

Fireboat Seawolf Restoration

Seawolf is a 60-foot aluminum-hulled fireboat built in 1994 for the Oakland Fire Department after the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, with a reported pumping capacity of up to 8,000 gallons per minute through four monitors. The Oakland City Council approved her sale to Azul Marine Group on May 5, 2026, and on July 27, 2026 a volunteer crew brought her from Oakland to J&H Marine in Stockton to begin assessment and restoration. Before the vessel can enter reliable service, the organization must address transportation, shipyard work, inspections, mechanical and electrical systems, firefighting systems, safety equipment, communications, navigation, fuel systems, regulatory compliance, and training.

Once restored, Seawolf will give the organization a working platform for:

  • Marine firefighting support
  • Fire training and interagency exercises
  • Search and rescue operations
  • Emergency response and vessel support
  • Water quality testing and environmental research
  • Levee and shoreline inspection support
  • Boating safety and marine education programs
Status
Purchased from the City of Oakland in July 2026 and relocated to Stockton. Restoration and fundraising underway.
How to help
Donate, sponsor a system or milestone, or provide in-kind equipment and supplies.
